I’m leaving in 45 minutes to go see him perform at the Nectar in Fremont. Lusine is opening and it should be amazing. Actually, this is both my first 21+ only show and my first authentically electronic show — should be an experience.

This guy is great. It’s sort of acapella mixed with 60’s Pink Floyd mixed with some TMBG-emulating (parody?) tracks with many of the vocal qualities of The Hidden Cameras and some wildly ambient and psychedelic parts. That’s probably a good description of him — possibly overkill. I’m not sure about some parts of it, but his album The Turn (it’s not out yet) is not something I’d pass up.

While it may seem weird to some, I do say that anything with girls and robots in the same song/sentance must be amazing. This song lives up to the high standards I have for songs with the two involved. This track was included in a past radio show.

There are bands out there that are overly predictable and embrace the cheesiest of pop hooks and I can’t stand them. Elias and The Wizzkids (myspace) take the great parts of pop music and infuse it reasonably well (there are parts where they get a little close to being over the top) with the singer’s awkwardly comfortable singing style, upbeat indie rock, and wonderfully depressing and negative-outlook-on-life lyrics into something great.

You’ve got to give it to them just for being from Stockholm.

I must have heard this while watching Heroes a few days ago (that show is far too addiciting. stay away.). I’ve never really been a big Rogue Wave fan but they come up every few months and I’m never dissapointed with them. They aren’t the most revolutionary band in the world but they do produce nice comfortable music. This track gets to me the same way Nada Surf does — it’s simple.

With the move to a new domain, blipbloop.net, I’ve decided to finally make a music blog. I will probably scatter mp3 reviews, album reviews, random music news, new music websites and other similar tidbits. We will see!
